Dark and damp out there but the wind seems to have run out of puff.

MH collection day today. Can you believe that I was quoted £848.90 by the caravan & Motorhome Club insurance services to insure it! After a bit of helpful advice from the dealer, I went with the NFU for £314.40 - a bit of a difference. :eek:
Today is finally the day of the week you have all been waiting for so make the most of it and enjoy your work. :)
Looking forward to the pics!
Hope you really enjoy it!!!:):):)

Slab laying at the side of Wimblowdriver Towers finished (apart from filling the joints). I can now walk to the garage back door without encountering trip hazards. Choice of jobs next; 1) new garage roof. 2) finish sis-in-laws patio. 3) rebuild the orangery (being a bit posh there, its a dilapidated lean to shed on the side of the house).
1 then 3 then.........naw!;)

Didn't get up too early today, but then went on a right old outdoors spree.
Wifey got stuck in prepping and planting up bits in the poly tunnel. i wasted ages trying to find my two stroke oil and chain oil.
In the shed? nope, In the "work room" nope.
Back to the shed. "It MUST be in here!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Took even more stuff out having been interrupted by W who can never do much without me needing to help her.
So got some stuff out I never even knew we owned. Two wooden fold up planters with trellis attached.:rolleyes:
Back to the shed, tore it apaprt again.
Nope.
Back to the work room, went all over it.
Nope.:mad::mad::mad:
Back to the shed again.
Finally.:rolleyes:
The twoe stroke was in amongst the 4 stroke garden machinery oil, in an identical container except for the label and the chain oil was in a label-less container which didn't resemble anything I remembered having. I had to pour out a bit to be sure!:rolleyes:
This is one of the troubles only going anywhere once every six months, you forget.
Anyway, filled up the chainsaw, (Is there anything stickier than chain oil? WHY do I always overfill it?!!:mad:)
So started cutting up the last 7 logs before we go to get a new load.
Cut one log then........... nothing but sawdust.:(
Must have put it away not having sharpened the chain.:mad:
and of course now it is too hot to work on and the sun is beating down on my bald bonce.
After a break get it sorted and it cuts the rest up a dream.
Load up the log basket and carry the rest in in armfuls.
Then start on breaking up dead fruit wood for kindling.
All seemed to take for ever. and I am so unfit even walking around the land wore me down a bit.
But progress has been made, there were a few spots of rain a while back but nothing materialised.
so good weather all in all, few light clouds now.
Hope you all had productive days and are looking forward to the weekend.
I wonder if DD will spend it camped out in her noo truck???;););)

:):):):):):)

Just discovered Wifey has ordered Bacon and Bangers from a company in the S of France.
4 packs of thick pork bangers and 2 packs of back bacon.
€37, which is bad enough, (You are no longer allowed to bring this over with you and you can't get them from Leclerc or Auchan etc)
BUT!!!!!!!!!
:mad::mad::mad::mad:
€35.28 delivery.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I cannot be ffed to work this out per rasher or per banger.:(:(:(

Having just topped the coolant tank up on the Disco I am having to admit to myself that it needs work.
I suspect a head gasket is weeping.
Which I don't need over here.:( Especially with only one car. Typically it will need to make more journeys than usual this year. 3 more trips up and down France.:(Why do you only spot this sort of thing when abroad?
If I'd seen it in the UK, I could have done it myself or got blokey who did the box to do it at the same time.
:mad::mad::mad:.
The previous useful Landy garage has stopped doing work only now supplies 2nd hand bits.
There is another place, I think, rather further away, but would he be willing to reface the head? and how much would he charge?
All things to think about before we come back with another car.
;)

It's 'ere!! It's only a likkle two berth but it is lovely. Photo will come up tomorrow. :)
When my brother went away in his for the first time the other day he was very grateful for a bloke on the site who helped him with a few things, as he really didn't know what he was doing. Which is kinda why I wondered if you were going to give it a bit of a "dry run" by using it for a couple of days at home, to see what is what!
He wishes he had!;):)

They are complicated beasties although having had both 'vans and motorhomes before does help as much is the same or similar in them. My intention is to go out in it after Easter but only locally in case I find something not working! :)

Knew you'd had a van obvs but didn't know you had a motorhome.
My stepson has one and came to stay with us last summer, but camping wild. He couldn't get anything to work off grid. Was feckin annoying. Also some sod near where he lives had superglued the lock to his gas cylinder locker, so he couldn't even have a cup of tea. :(:(
So i hope you have a lovely time with it!!:):):)

This one has everything catered for by using AUTO so it selects the most economical/available source for everything and the gas comes from a 25 l tanks UNDER the van - same with fresh and grey water and these tanks have self-setting heaters which are temperature controlled to be useful during winter conditions - fridge also on auto. It's a van for thickies and ancients!!! I need it. :D:D:D
