This is what we had to do last year, but for one thing we allus takes SO much stuff with us and also do I trust my Disco not to break down at all ? Over a period of 6 months? So far it hasn't but we did have an accident in it once so would have been utterly sstuck without another car, seeing as we live 15 mins up a mountain from the nearest shop, in a car. If we can't get a trailer we'll be forced to do this.:eek:

Buy a car there and leave it there? sure you have done the sums but would make sense, wouldnt it:).

Yurp, if we had a garage there we'd do that although, and here's a bit of Froggy nuttiness, even if it is off the road and you are not driving it it HAS to be insured all the time!!!
If we only had a friend we could borrow the garage off. We did used to but they have "gone off" a bit recently for some bizarre reason. We think there is a bit of jealousy involved on a couple of fronts. We are not part of their ex-pat clique. Our other decent friends don't have any garage room although now I think of it one couple did mention a wimmins who doesn't use all of her garage. We only know her slightly but she might rent it to us for a few sovs a month. We'll have to pursue that one.;)
I quite fancy a Citroen Dyane. But have you seen the prices of second hand cars over there? Flicking eye watering. AND it'd have to be auto for Wifey.:(
I did mention taking a small trailer, and I think that might be on the cards. We already have one but it has an engine in it at the mo and its cover ain't no great shakes. Also if you use one of them stuff rubs together like mad as they don't have springs unlike our huge box trailer.

@Stanleysteamer Trailers are stupid money for decent ones how much do you really want to
spend.
