I took early retirement at the end of last March. My pension is about a third of what my salary was and I still seem to have the same amount of money month on month. In fact, I'm doing better than I was before. I can't work it out apart from having a 75+ mile travel each day and lockdown must be playing a part.The past few months of having no real income have made me realise just how much money I used to waste when I had a job.
It's true what they say, "Have money, will spend"
I need to be careful that I don't fall back in to that mindset when I start working again early next month.
