Me mum had a pre chemo blood test on Toosday followed by an appointment with the doctor. So she hangs around for a bit after the blood test and then goes round to the part of the hospital where the doctors office is, to be told the test results haven't arrived yet so can she please wait. Hour later they still haven't arrived and asked to wait. 2 hours later they still hadn't arrived, but had her appointment where she was told the opposite of her previous appointment she could go home and if there were problems with the blood tests they would let her know. So she rings up her boyfriend to collect her, he goes over, picks her up, drops her off home and 10 minutes later the hospital rings... got your blood test results, can you come back in please! So in she goes again and hooked up to a couple of drips for a couple of hours before going home.
So Wednesday she has to have another blood test to make sure things have been corrected before the chemo. She hangs around, but quite quickly she gets a call from the chemo team saying blood tests are back, all OK and can she make her way over to start her chemo. So she goes over there. Hello they say, can you just wait here please. An hour and a half later they come back and say they are ready now.
I think they are in competition with A&E to see who can rack up the longest waiting times.
