...The weathervane is completed. :D

Sadly, it weighs so much I cannot think of putting it on top of the obelisk I made herself. :(
But I tested the arrow mechanism out on a spare bit of 12mm bar and the wind direction was always truly indicated no matter in which direction I stood.
So now I shall have to find a different location for it. :D

You could build a nice stone obelisk in the garden and fix it to the top;)

Well Wifey has finally made the marmalade.
Did it set well?
Hmm, well yes.
Put it this way, the dog could only get it off the saucer we used to test it on with her teeth!
Think I'll use it as filler. :):):)
Have also ordered 2 kgs of silica gel to make up packs for my Disco and maybe the others, and I am surfing for half-car covers.
I am determined to keep the fecking damp out of my Disco 2. It don't leak as badly as some, but nevertheless! Stoopid sunroofs.
I must search deeper to find out which places the beginnings of the drain tubes are, as at a quick glance it isn't obvious. so i can then blows them through etc.
Then maybe I can fix the car so i can lock it with the fob without the alarm going off when i get about 30 yds from the car!
What fun!:):):)

I could make another out of 1.5 mill sheet steel I suppose. But I would need to buy a compressor and a plasma-torch to cut it.
Cutting thin stuff is a real pain isn't it?
As you say, needs special tools or a shedload of patience, thin blades and some means of clamping the workpiece, which you have to undo and then do up again every 5 minutes.
Did you cut all the bits out or did it come as a kit? Don't be offended by this question, it is a tribute to your skill if you did cut it all out!

I bought the parts (flat steel laser/plasma-cut) and used my own steel stock (tubes, etc.) to make the bits to weld them all to.
