Morning All :D
Bad news from "The House of Doom" last night, The 600 x 300 tiles were too much for the old wall surface and they began pulling the bonding off the wall. :(
Thom's going to bail on tiling as a tile-slide isn't pretty, just pretty dangerous. The wall will have to be taken back to blockwork and re-plastered.
Thom has a "paying" job to start on Monday so he has a hard stop of COB Friday. Means a tough time for the son & family with no usable bathroom. :(
But they are NOT moving back here. :)

Interestingly, I was warned about this by the tile shop when I selected a similar style. After reading your post I'm glad I listened to their advice!

Well that really is a shit isn't it?
Happened to some friends of ours in a new house, one tile fell off and smashed their new bath, so definitely sympathise.
Bathroom won't be entirely unusable will it? If the work is done in sections? We have a bathroom with only two walls tiled, (not grouted yet) as work is ongoing, but we still use the bog and a basin. That wall has no tiles on it at all. But then we ain't splashy kids!

Mornin/affo to all!
Post brought good news and bad, from Blighty and Frogland!
EDF owe us €93, whooppee!
RBoS have made a cock up so some bills have not been paid as they should, when wifey rang them up, this happens sometimes, so glad they record all calls!
And she got an unexpected payment as the same bank has miscalculated shedloads of transactions £s to €s. £2.50 odd, but they'll have done this to tons of peeps so it'll cost them about half that amount in postage just to let peeps know! Idiots!
(Wifey has just apologised for the mouthful she gave me over phone calls allegedly made by me to Tesco credit card. Will note this in the diary!)
@kermit_rr How did the meeting go?
Enjoy the rest of the day, folks!:):):)

I think I saw that on that Abandoned Engineering telly prog. Derelict and vandalised to bitz.

it is definitely not in its finished condition now, but was impressive, regardless of reason to build or who built/paid for it. the Bulgarians are not tearing down their history they are now understanding it is worth restoring for tourism.:)

you must have missed a bit lol... the short of it was, gov said you can go back to the office, so which bit of that dont you understand? lol!! non negotiable
they're pulling employees from another office one day a week to help with numbers in my office, says it all really
That is happening at our place too. Some like me they see as high risk so don't want back but everybody else pile in :)

I was at the house of doom all day today and we managed to complete a few more small jobs.
  1. Kitchen extractor unit wired-up installed and working.
  2. Broken washing machine repaired, tested and working fine
  3. Sticking Bedroom-Door taken off, trimmed and re-hung.
  4. 4 new dimmable LED downlighters wired in and installed into the bathroom ceiling.
  5. False floor constructed to cover the Underfloor heating pipes as they exit the main floor and head out under the stairs and into the garage.
  6. Front door PIR light installed.
I'm aching like a ba$tard and ready for some G&T, TV watching and bed. :D
