I thought I'd put this ere for the tratterers to look at. Often tratterers dun't like new fangled things like electricity. Modern cars have electricity. They also have electronics and computers to control and automate things. This can make diagnostics more difficult but buying a diagnostic code reader can help you with this. The video's below show example diagnostic information for a Freelander 1.

Last year I looked at a poorly Freelander 1 Td4 auto. The dash speedo would jump to maximum when the ignition was turned to position 2. We traced this fault to 2x failed abs sensors at the front. The ABS computer can't function properly if 2 or more ABS sensors fail. If this happens it switches oft. It was thought the cooling fans didn't work but we used the diagnostic to override them and they worked ok. The engine starts and runs ok but the Freelander can't drive itself forwards or backwards. We never managed to solve the loss of drive problem. We ran out of time and the vehicle was sold as the owner was moving.
