Been tryin to find a diagnostic tool to clear oil service light on the Freebie 2
Had to resort to going to local indy cost £30 but sorted for now
It would appear pre 2010 is easier
Also need a noo pig fer me tratter

I would like a Freelander 2. Was looking about recently for diagnostics. I know my hawkeye can do it but I would need to get an additional license code for it to work. cost is best part of £200. I think bearmach should give me a free code for advertising their product for them. HINT. There's a bloke over ere that resets the service thing on a Freelander 2 with only his fingers. Never tried it myself so don't know if it works. It did for him:

Hopefully over time as Freelander 2's get older more peeps will start to work on them themselves and diagnostic tools and knowledge will become more popular. It's a concern of mine for any vehicle I might buy in the future. Availability for home diy to get codes is one thing, but to be able to go further and do other stuff is what I would want.
When looking at the hawkeye recently it said "2007 - " and that got me thinking about the 2010 update and possibly different computers or software versions for the Freelander 2.

The procedure in the above link works for pre 2010 Freelander 2's
Still don't know if Hawkeye will clear it on 2010 onwards
I do know the Autologic will but at £800
.......With the service items coming to about £100 and £30 to have it cleared by local indy that's 6 services for that Then again that's only 2 annual services at a main stealers....
I should have said I had to prove the service had been done. i.e. produce receipts. Though fortunately they remembered that I had bought the service items from them only days before

If I had a Freelander 2 I would try to service it meself but I guess that reduces the sale price if I ever had to get rid. I wouldn't want to but you never know what may happen in the future. I would keep all receipts but peeps prefer to look out for the service history from garages, especially when they're newer....I should have said I had to prove the service had been done. i.e. produce receipts. And having done the service myself I can say with 100% certainty it's been done properly.
You should have seen the state of the filters the oil and the brake fluid. The brake fluid had most definitely not been changed

Looks like LR's going to start doing classic restorations, or so LRO ses. That should keep yer biscuit tins on the road.
