Many would have you believe that polybushing a classic ('88 efi, no rollbars, but a fully working Boge strut) is like painting over the Mona Lisa with a yard brush.

I went with it and did the bushings with originals about 6 years ago. Recently the death wobble came back and everything has been replaced including swivel bearings, wheel bearings, joints, the works.

still there... so

i took the plunge and went Blue Polybush (from Rimmers). Once i'd pressed out the old ones and put the new ones in (and then did it again when i got it wrong) i have to say they're good! The ride is still soft and compliant, my teeth are still in their sockets and best of all i can crash through potholes without the steering wheel vibrating like a vibrating thing.

So just my 2p, but i'm pretty pleased with them - you have nothing to fear. Except the expense!

You do realise having made the ride comfortable the rest of the vehicle will complain 🤫 Get that cheque book ready for the onslaught 😁
 
i was so overcome with joy at having smooth and comfortable steering that i've cleaned all the carpets with the Big green machine.

of course the coolant sensor has decided to **** itself and say i'm low on coolant all the time when i'm not. Must have been next on the list of LR faults...wonder what comes after that?
 
My '87 has been retro-fitted with the genuine LR sway bar kit by one of it's two PO's (yes, I'm still only the third owner in 36 years)
After experimenting with (firstly) HD rear springs & latterly a Harvey-Bailey kit, to counter customer's complaints regarding handling, they developed their own in-house design which (allegedly) only reduces axle travel by half-an-inch.

I don't off road so not in a position to test the axle travel claims, but on-road the bars enable me to corner with as little body roll as a modern car.
