I am thinking of getting a full canvas top and the hoop set proberly from paddocks as its just down the road from me. roughly how lonk should it take to remove the hard top and sides and fit the shiny new bits?

also i have a swing away wheel carrier fixed to the rear door that swings when the door is opened! to to retain this i am going to chop the top off the door and fit hooks for the rear flap of the rag top to attach to has anybody had a go at this particular configuration?... anyway is should make for a fun time over christmas!

any advice/ pics would be super

Chris

Shame you ain't got a 110 I've got a full set of hoops and a sand coloured tilt lying around doing bugger all.

according to Trewy - a 110 tilt fits an 88 Series too. - at least mine duz - or wud do if i fitted the front fixings.

Dunt know all I know is it's sitting round gathering dust if any one wants to offer me some beer tokens for it. the tilt is the 3/4 type not a full length one.

If yer want it yer can have it for half that as I've got no use for it it's faded but intact and useable with a two small holes in it that would easily patch, about the size of 50p pieces.

thanks for the offer!, i am after a full one both paddocks and exmore trim say its will be about 4 weeks till i can pick it up as they are made to order bugger, might have it as a easter job rather than a christmas job!

If you dont mind me asking how much is it all costing thinking of taking the county top of mine and turning into a rag top

Hi

£299 for the hoop set and £170 for the tilt.... Why are they called a tilt?

thats from paddocks and they take 4 to 6 weeks
i rang Exmoor trim but they were more expensive
gonna do it to mine around easter i think

Chris

afaik it comes from the days of horse drawn carriages and whatnot. the top cover/roof on some of em just tilted back out the way, if yer fancied some sun on yer face.

instead of cutting your door, have a look at fitting a drop down tailgate. should be possible to hinge it at the sides surely? its got the hooks for the top. could you not fix the swing away thing to the tub? mines been done like that.

well know i know why its a tilt... i didnt know it would be that obvious!

thanks
thats not a bad idea... i think there is a tail board from a series knocking about in my mates garage

My dearest Mr Slob. The origins of the name "Tilt" go back to the Saxons when it was used to mean "Tent" or "Cover". I do hope this is of value.

Morning Daft.
