Then find out where they live and burn their house down, for good measure.
wish me luck
Um sorry if I'm being blind but what about the engine mounts? Do I use the ones in a 90 or discovery??
yes, some ive had to space up a bit to help with fitting conversion pipe to disco turbo
Hello all!, Just done mine ( 200 disco into defender) and after reading most posts on this, I completely Ignored you all and did it my way! (i can feel a song coming on!!)
Kept 90 gearbox, changed flywheel housing, changed engine mounts and threw it in with the front end loader! Exhaust took an hour with a grinder and welder ( plenty of room!)
td oil cooler pipes fitted 90 rad, so no messing aout there or expensive trips to Pirtek!!
found a top hose, used disco bottom hose, low pressure pipe fits from 90, high pressure pas pipe fits from disco, kept 90 rad, no need for an intercooler at all! 2.5 bhp i can live without thanks!!! and less lag!! ( if you need more power than a 200 tdi get one of those 5 cylinder thingys that fall to bits!!) and that was about it! Oh yes, use disco throttle cable and filter bowl.
All in all 12 hours work! Dunno what all the fuss is about!!!
And i used the clutch from the Disco tdi onto the td gearbox... All works fine
A small money saving tip!
upto you they work well enough without but in a 90 id fit but dont bother in seriescome on then ladies, gentlemen and others, intercooler or not?????
(apologies if this topic has already been covered in detail, point me in the right direction and i shall shut up and go back to bed)
