Hey guys,

Thanks to Jai's no how (and his Hi-Lift) The springs are now on, second one was a piece of ****, shocks are on too. Hopefully everything will be ok although I need a new shock bolt on one of the sides as the thread is ummm not right.

I was slightly worried that the springs would be too bouncy as they are 4 leaf paras on the rear but they are fine. Now just need some proper wheels and tyres to fill the gaping hole in the arches!! What would you suggest??

Hopefully the fronts will be on and the paint done before the trip in july. Catch you guys soon

Jimbo

No problem,

Your face was was a picture tho every click of the highlift you seemed to get more and more concerned. All i know is you gotta get space and that means getting the mota high. Anyway glad it worked out ok for ya have a good one at Whaddon be careful WHO tows you out tho mate cos it seems a breeding ground for ****s offering a tow just take it easy. Laters Jai

He's been working hard... still trying to get things sorted!

Hi all,
long time no hear :)

after 4 months of boring Audi driving- the Audi has now gone and i am back to happy landy land.

i could not afford another defender, so a disco was the way to go.

i have purchased a 1995 m reg 5 door disco. it is a 3.9 V8 manual.

it has had 3 previous owners- 1st being the police. it was built by land rover special vechiles.

it has some odd things like no sunroofs, drivers and pass airbags and abs(dash looks the same as an es dash with no grab handle).
it is lifted 2", front and rear diff guards, steering guard, new insa turbo sahra tyres.

ooo, sorry got carried away!!!

any way,the purpose of the message was to let you know i am land rovered again, and will be out laning etc in the near future:D:D:D:D:D:D

Dave

OOOOhhh now ya see I wam jealous! So many problems to sort and you guys out all the time enjoyingyourselves!

My bearing should be here in a day or so... and then we'll be back with a vengance. Until then Kai has been stripping the extra V8 we had in the garage (photos will follow to bore you all!) and we'll be rebuilding this week!

Ash... what's going on?

OK there a couple of piccys there but I bet Aaron didn't take 'em. The lad has a flair for good and action photos! If he did take them then you better give him a few more opportunities for action stuff mate!

The guy said that we couldn't stop on a byway as it was on their land and if we did stop he'd charge us an admission ticket. I politely told him I was on a public road and I could stop anywhere along it that I pleased. We then ignored his ramblings and carried on looking at the maps. ****.

some more pic's from sat, brett cheers for leading again

Well we did have a prob with the batt for the cam and the other one i had with me was my nikon and aaron is not sure how to use this yet....:D

I know what you mean about whaddon Jai, whilst I was there on sunday some t****r in a ninety decided to snatch another ninety with a winch cable, bloody cable almost went through the other nineties windscreen. ****.

Sorry I didnt drop off the hilift as I forgot where you were but ive got your address so I might stop by after work one evening (perhaps wednesday??) as im in st. albans.

Just got to sort out a new problem that has arisen as the ****ing overdrive will not disengage, lever wont come far enough back and there isn't any crud in it. Any ideas??

Cheers all

looks like it was another good day out chaps.

I see forty foot lane is closed for another 6 months

http://www.bedford.gov.uk/environme...39cc94-2953-402e-ad5e-c4525e31b4cf&version=-1

We've had a few email exchanges with BCC over Forty Foot. Basically they've had it closed for 2 years, don't have any money to fix it, so they won't open it. it's total bollocks and we've told the council so. They're failing in their legal duties and are using one TRO after another, rather than applying to the Sec of State like they're supposed to.

Naah... I reckon the lad is a better photographer than you and it's a little embarrasing!

Don't worry fella... kai's gonna be a better mechanic than me and that will be embarassing too!

:)

you know what Jim, I have decided that whaddon is a little like laning. Only go with someone who you trust to recover you. It's a great site. It allows Kai to drive and that is worth it's weight... but when he needs recovering I want someone I trust... sadly there ain't many and most of them are on here!

Hey Ash... just an update... waiting for the release bearing to be delivered... after which the gearbox should be in on the same day... maybe tuesday I hope. I'll drop the hoist back straight after unless you need it before!

no prob just give me a call i i can come over to get it if you can not get it in the car...

OK folks... here's a question. I have a nasty misfire at low revs on my Astra. It is fine if ti boot it.

I have changed the coil, plugs and leads - and also, thinking about fuel starvation, fitted a new fuel filter.

The problem, while a little less pronounced is still apparent.

Any further ideas? The vehicle was running perfectly and this problem developed over a period of time.

Thanks for any insights.
