Hi Guys... glad the pub worked out well... could be regular spot then -

Lookinig for a shotgun seat for saturday if one is available!

would love to although its in mr garden! If I manage to refit it then your welsome to jump in but tome constrains mean that its not likley it'll be in TBH

NO worries then mate - Rose really wants me to start on the Landy on Saturday anyway so maybe I will move ahead with stripping the transfer box out of that.

By the way... can I remove the gearbox without shifting the engine forwards? I really do not fancy moving the engine but I reckon the clutch and the rear oil seal should be sorted at the same time

Definitely want the transfer box - not sure whether I will have the money for it on Saturday or Tuesday but it will be one or the other. When's good to pop round and seperate it? Could make it any time to suit you.

well i drove around in an old g wagon today. utterly gutless lump but bloody quiet inside, i actually quite liked it!

Tom Sheppard reckoons that the G wagon out performs the land rover every time. He says he would probably never come back to LR having trusted the Gwagon on so many desert trips...

I'm guessing he got a good one!

actually, g wagons will outperform a landy in the right hands. bloody reliable - but as said parts are a bomb, and they have locking front and rear diffs so in the rough stuff they should outperform a landy

Always fancied an AMG G-Wagon.

G-Wagons were built to NATO spec, bloody expensive, but amazingly good. Only something like a Pinzgauer is better.

On Sunday do you mind if I meet up closer to the Santa pod lanes I start in Peterborough and don't want to hold everybody up at flat out of 50mph

on Sunday mate, you'll be on your own, it's Saturday. Here's the details:

Saturday meeting point:

Sainsburys A6 Clapham north of Bedford.

Sainsbury's - Google Maps

9.00am for 9.30am

I will need to bale at 15.00 as I'm working in the evening. __________________

It is saturday indeed. Just been out to do a bit of a recce, i managed to drive 2 lanes, all the rest have some form of TRO on them, really annoying, most open on the 19th of may.

The red tracks are the TRO'd tracks
These till the 19th

and these until repairs have been done or the 30th of september, what ever is sooner.

B3aker,

I've checked the Bedford Council website, it looks like it's only 40' that's TRO'd till the 21st, mind you the wonderful Adrian Fett has had it closed for the last 2 years through one cock and bull story after another. Kimbolton/Grafham is out then, but Santa Pod looks OK. There's still enough for a short day.
Looks like a return visit after the 21st then.

Yer i had a look on there too, some things just don't tally up. The cambs web site is bloody useless. Its a shame that 1 person can keep one lane closed for so long when there are so many people wanting to use it. The Tilbrook Bushes lanes are more or less the lanes that link the whole Santa Pod and Grafham lanes together.
