I really wanna set out a mini treasure hunt one weekend not too far from now. tie some crayons on trees on some local lanes with a map for people to follow and some cryptic clues where to find them and some questions along the lines LZ humour.

start at a pub and end at a pub for a pint for the winner.

Cheers Kev,

I have a fair ammount of bits already I'm collecting any old mild steel bits n bobs to make up a system mainly broken bits no real need for good ones I'd keep it as a spare but cheers mucho appreciated

Serious? That sounds like fun. I'd be up for that.

Latest Ebay buy: 2 inch weld mesh in Warwickshire for the front screen and rear cage screen. Should stop my head being taken off when a rope fails in team recovery

Defo I'm sure I could sponsor a prize or maybe a round of drinks for the winning team. Something that the whole family as awell as single drivers could enjoy a days laning navigating. not too far (Keep the fuel price down cheap day out is all required) I remember doing it as a youngun with my family with the AWDC and driving a ford in the old mans 109 while trying to crack a puzzle. Always ended up at a pub!

For now just have a crack at laying out a sort of route and see how we go but it would be nice to one day if there is enough interest ask (not make compulsory just a good will gesgure) that people to donate some money as a guide £5 per vehicle ALL of which will go to a good cause like keetch cottage, H4H or Mac M.

Maybe some of the essex lot could come and have a go and they could do the same for us their way.

Wouldnt even need a 4x4 as you could walk the lanes really but will take longer.

no prizes for speeding either!!

I really like your idea Jai... would make for a really good day!

Spydie... liking your sailing photos on Flickr.... didn't realise you were a sailor!

Been sailing for years, got my RYA qualifications in Dingy, powerboat and sea survival. The boat I was on at the weekend belongs to Scott's girlfriend's dad, Bavaria 33' very nice indeed.

Certainly looks like you were all having a great time!

Here's a though... does anyone know how to work out whether this compressor JCB 24 Litre Air Compressor JCB-CAC24: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools could be run from a 12 volt system with an inverter?

If so, then I remember Jai talking about wanting one to use at comps... and it turns out we have one spare. It was going to be thrown out but we grabbed it and rewired the mains lead. It works ok (though the auto shut off needs attention).

If it will work for what you want Jai you are welcome to it since we have another.

you'd be better off with a t-max hd compressor as you will need a monster invertor for that compressor

I thought that might be the case... but since had one of these spare I thought it was worth asking whether it was of any use to Jai. I think he had ideas of using a windy gun for quick wheel changes at comps.

He Chris

Cheers I have an engine ac pump that puts out so much volume it's unbelievable inflated my tyre from flat to 28 psi in something like 40'seconds and the 1/2 inch bore hose and valve was limiting the airflow. I have he air system in the manifold in just need to mount my tank and wire it up to a relay and we should be cooing on gas!!

Id be interested in this. Would be a good day out. When are you planning to do it.

Hi, coming out of lurk mode (hello!), like the Treasure Hunt idea if it's open to all? Have a late Series 2a (ex Navy), and a P38. Based in North Herts, keen to get involved in (legitimate) local goings on!
