Why resurface it if it is not to be used? Who is the bloke to write to... perhaps we should all write individual letters of complaint!
They haven't resurfaced it, it's exactly as it was closed 3 years ago. The council say they don't have the money to fix it and can't say when they will, in the meantime they're using TROs to keep it closed, citing further damage as a reason. We had discussions last summer when it was as dry and as hard as rock. A tank couldn't damage it at present, there's no reason why it isn't being opened apart from the fact that BCC are a bunch of tossers.
Adrian Fett is the BCC officer responsible.

Good luck, but you won't get anywhere with him, it'll take legal action against BCC to get anywhere.

or perhaps the serious threat of legal action?

Beds County Council seem to be very very Pro walking and very very against greenlaning from their efforts or lack of. That said this lane has been in that state for many years. The occasional spruce up but nothing like maintainance. It could be argued that'the only way to do it would be to grade it and hard surface it which costs a bomb money they havent got. I suspect they are hoping nobody gets upset. That petition in the Surrey lanes if that were to come in it would be more in the hands of Glass and other pro greenlaning groups however none of them i feel would be prepared to say its fine or ok to drive in its current (well, at least its last known) condition.

Its one to add to the soon to be lost section unfortunatly. Letters to seemingly uninterested local MP's nor offers of genuine help to maintain the lanes have been pushed aside to their real agenda. The wealthy land owners and their nice little group in which the main man on RoW that advises our goverment directly sits as a long standing member. inpartial Not Quite!

Action is the only option left to us maybe a few landies parked outside the council offices early Monday morning may get attention especially if the tyres are too big to clamp! i dunno its a losing battle. We have written emailed and expressed our deepest upset to everyone but the Queen it seems. i know spyderman and myself have been in contact with BCC to offer any help we could which was politly ignored. Somone in the goverment needs to see that many of the TRO'd Lanes in our immediate area are unnessasarily imposed for no good reason other than the people that have the power wishes to not see motor vehicles use what is and has been a RoW for many hundreds of years because: A it suits them B they are influenced by groups wishing for Motor vehicles to NO lonnger have a RIGHT to be there. Forty foot is another matter but the way the BCC have used the TRO is out of order.

If somone said right Mr Spyderman and Mr Ryder we are no longer counting your vote because we have decided that you no longer have a RIGHT to vote you would be most upset. This is what they're doing with no real justification Nor comebacks because the people in power on BCC seem to ignore any RIGHTS us motorists have.

Maybe I should reduce my road fund license by x ammount as x ammont of local right of way have been unavailable to drive because the council have Failed to maintain them. Could you imagine them saying sorry chaps the M1 is TRO'd because its awfully expensive to maintain so we have taken away the legal right of way away because we have had cuts and we have not budgeted for it.
