Back from Italy, unbelievable amount of Defenders in Aosta. Spoke to a couple of guys from the Aosta Valley Land Rover Club, makes Derbyshire look a bit tame by comparison.

Well today was fun Rangie boys set out some nice sections which caught me out a fair few times but all fun quite high scoring for me but getting the hang of my gearing so all good much fun no damage Jai

I need lots more practice I made some silly mistakes taking out cross canes missing a gate. On the 2nd from last section gear selection/not reading the ground well and trying to do it too slowly scored me a 1 where a clear was quite an easy one. I was first on that section so all fun. The last section the rear tub took out an 8 and it should have been an easyish clear. Lots of fun my driving was a bit rubbish, twas first drive in about a year at a comp so I didn't expect much but still made some silly mistakes.

Alf and the Rangy boys set set out some cracking sections which needed some thought many parts of the sections to catch you out and plenty of full throttle sections. Very well done!

Things to do before the next event.

Practice gear selection I'm finding it difficult to get my head around using 3rd instead of 2nd (honestly its a complete mind screw) where you would naturally go into 2nd but I run out of revs way before getting to the speed needed to get over a section. this is a mind thing and I guess it will come!

Lose the lowered bump stops,
Fit far softer springs front and rear,
Lose winch/bumper,
Fit perspex in rear window,
Practice way more!
