I'm sure when I got a set of cheapos last year they were in a plain box with mintex stamped in back of the metal part of the pad. Looking good Jamie keep up the hard work!
Did you ever get to the bottom of the bearing problems??

Jai

the discs where in a plain box put the pads where mintex boxes, i had a small vice, 4ft breaker bar, 4 and 8lb hammers and a crowbar and it still took 3hrs, i didnt put thread lock on either but they where bloody tight i used the imact driver which goes up to 300nm, as for the bearings i think it was just me done somethings wrong:eek:, took apart and cleaned an greased again then put back together and been fine since, i did notce the angle of the two front wheels are different, driver side top tips towards body slightly and the other is paralel with the spring.

i need to look at something else aswel, when i took the half shafts out the back all that came out was rust colour water, shouldnt this have been oil?

i had a horrible brown merky oil, it was very ming, its where ur diffs get hot, then u dunk em in water n mud n its just sucks it in. drain it, leave it to drain fully and replace the oil,

hour job to do both if you leave it to drain completely

Not a great idea to check the wheels using the springs (or body-work!!) as a datum as they're easily moved a bit. Might be worth taking to a kwik-fit type place and have them measured up properly.

I have a procedure for doing this at home, but can't find it .. typical ... ;)

i can notice it from all angles now iv had a proper look, can see it is without lineing it up with anything, is this something im gona strugle to do myself.

well glad it went together ok, i really would do them to the specific torque figure and locktight the bolts as they have the whole weight of the vehicle when braking and thats alot of force applied however you look at it
You wouldn't wanna over tighten them over stressing the bolts or not get them all torqued up equallly. As for wheel alignment if its that noticable then somthing is wrong possibly bodywork outterline or somthing more worrying defo worth looking at more closely.

i will double check them in a week or as i dont have much driveing to do and i gota get some wheel bearings and do them y im there, got phone bill to pay 1st:(, on the bright side my last insurance payment this month and i get 3 months free so that free's £220 a month to play with :D

Been trying to think what it could be, unlikely to be a bent axle, but that's not unknown, and as it's the front wheels it's a possibility that one of the swivels or swivel bearings has a problem. Certainly it shouldn't be 'different' to the other so it's something that I'd get checked sooner rather than later.

new beast? This mean even wider tyres? Or p.s where did you fit your air compressor on your 90? Jai

hello mate, tyres are the same at the moment as the ones i want arnt in the country yet. As for compressor if your talking about locking diffs i havent done these yet, possibly going with KAM lockers so will be elec not air. Me motor will be on one of the stands at billing so you will get to see her there if not b4 :D:D
