Hey Jamie,

V8 Disco without tax is pretty much worthless can be brought for almost peanuts like £150-£250 mark. Check all the usual areas sills and rear floor if they are good then its not a bad buy if it was running ok but me personally I would steer clear assumng its Efi (I think they all were that year) unless you know the ins and outs of the EFI system you could spend a fortune getting it right. Alot of my old off road mates have been there thrown Circa £500-£1000 and then given up as they have replaced loads of parts before actually diagnosing the fault and the engines still run like a bag of poo.

I like BFG all terrains but prefer the narrower ones personally. They last forever and have great offroad ability compared to standard tyres more so with the muds. The only reason we need mad off road tyre patterns is for pay and play or competition purposes. If you need these tyres greenlaning then its quite clearly not a suitable greenlane and will need some work to get it back to being right. Which I believe none of us have actually been involved with for some time. Anyone fancy putting forward a Local lane that needs work??

Hey Dan hows you mate?

Sorry didn't wanna upset you I thought it was 100 years cos my dad was somthing in the scouts years ago he mentioned it. Dan are you up for help the heroes Salisbury plain jaunt? I'm learning my way round too, just not as confident as you. My CB wasn't too tricky to fit, had to dismantle alot of the dash, not that there's much!

Well what do you know.... Started phoning around for a MOT appointment today. Couldn't get one before 2nd June. Thought that was a bit late so we went drive about and called in to a few mot centres. First one we tried had a cancellation 35 minutes later!

Rushed back and while rose was insuring said motor, Kai and I refitted the rear door trim. Then we drove like billy ho down the mot centre.

Walking around Asda while we waited for the phone call was like standing in the waiting room while your wife goes through a caesarian. Bloody frustrating.

Anyway, the disco failed. BUT not o9n any of the work Kai or I have completed. Simple light alignment and a couple of bits of welding that Kev is going to help us with tomorrow! So Monday should see us with a usable landy! Just as well cos I don't think I can keep the Shogun going much longer.

On another note... tried arc welding this evening. Thanks to Jai for bringing the kit over to the house and not laughing too much while Phil and I (along with Kai), made a bit of a pigs ear of some simple welding.

No one told me this was actually difficult! Guess we're going to need a little practice!!

Got some piccy's of Kai and Phil having a go so will post them later!

Hi all, hope everyone is well. I'm getting there with the kit. Getting two new tyres for the front next weekend and will use one that comes off as the spare. Still need a basic tool kit and some wooden blocks, but pretty pleased with the stuff I have managed to get so far and hope that I'll be able to be a help and not a hindrance when out laning next.

well ive washed, washed and washed some more and i can just about make out the chassis rails. Gonna get it clean and then have a waxoil session asap. Treat it to an oil and filter change strip out the wheel bearings and give it a good old service just in time for Derbyshire Jai

About £65-£100 depends how far you go. Very messy job. The underneath needs to be spotless and you socks some olneed a set of overalls mask gloves d shoes, a big tarpaulin and a nice hot day! But worth it when everyone else is replacing chassis and rear floors yours is still mint.

P.S that was the link I saw, but they are still waiting on dates Jai
