BTW, Jai,

I have a spare battery here you are welcome to borrow to try on the corsa. Don't know if it will fit but if you want to try you are welcome, it's an 069 that used to live on the Rangie, Ryder has used it before and as far as I know it is still good, in fact it was charged earlier today.

Yeah, might be worth a go but will need to make sure the Rangie is in A1 condition first. As you know I have been running it round with the pressure cap loose for a while now and it is starting to pump water out so that and the compression test results suggest a head gasket failure.

Got some other bits to do too including the rear diff pinion seal. MOT is due end of May so would wait until I get a fresh ticket before I go, would also like to get another rope and some shackles - think I'll need em!

Kev,
Done both of my diff seals now. It's a never ending battle. We treat them so harshly, it's no wonder really.
I missed all of last Summer as I killed mine, not this year for sure.

I'm doing things as soon as I see a problem, not messing about anymore.

Should have my winch working soon too.

Today has been a disaster:
I think one of the Rangie boys blew up a rear diff,
Another put their head through the windscreen,
I think Phil isn't having much luck on his way back from Whaddon,
Spyderman found more probs with his LR,
and I well I still have a list to get done.

P.s Rachels Corsa would't start think the battery just died propperly for no good reason. Jai

Jai are the guys hurt?

Probably not may have knocked some sense into them and brought some sealt belts! I dunno, I heared that from Phil earlier when they tried to get him stuck and from what he said at the time they couldn't achive it so I cannot actually say what happened really.

Cheers Kev, I'm pretty sure its the battery no warning lights on the dash dim ignition lights that go off when the the hedlights are tuned on. couldn't do a test voltage all my gear is at work will bring home tomorrow and check voltage. I jumped it with the landy (its out of action on ramps but it dd some good) and it started first time if I try to start it after a jump start the battery is dead no life at all so suspecting alternator issues but will confirm tomorrow when i have avolt meter to hand. Either way its a trip to the local indian car supplies for a battery and mae the scrapyard for a good cond Alternator.
I used to have all the spares I carried them with me when I had took my old Astra wreck to Devon but think i lent the alternator to a friend who destroyed it. His sound system was superb for 3 and a half minutes and then poof!! no more alternator. Jai

Yes has been abit of a bad day. The rangie boy that blew his rear diff also needs new windscreen as when jamie was stuck they tried to tug him out the rope snatched the car back and the passenger head butted the wind screen but is fine.

We managed to get mine stuck 3 other motors tried to help but got stuck before even reaching me. finally got all our motors out of whaddon at 20.00 oopps. Slight chance of pics not sure yet.

A disco lost all drive and waited for tow truck and my battery is not charging and my clutch is slipping so tow truck was my ride home too. (same bloke who picked me up from urs kev)

Speak soon phil

Phil get a hose and pour it over you alternator keep it drowned for about 3 of 4 minutes from all angles. then give the bearings a quick squirt of wd40 not too much and thent jump it see if it starts bear in mind wd40 is flamable and could ignight a small fire so you have been warned. Check if your battery light is on then next thing is to check connections from the alt. As for your clutch did you use wading bungs? if not tut tut! but if you did then take them out and you may get the clutch back but I doubt it. Jai

Well peeps!

Today's been a bit of a mission. Started out ok, object:rebuild previously dismantled motor after buying replacement water pump and cam belt tensioner. Got the bits ok, came home and the bloody wind was nasty and cold. Kept having to come inside to thaw out! Kai was at home due to circumstances beyond my control so he pitched in too!

At the end of the day I have a few more pulleys, fan and the radiator to put back in tomorrow... (I busted a key bolt trying to undo the crankshaft pulley:doh:)

Still it is looking hopeful for a few lanes tomorrow!

Kai, on the other hand, may well be back at school!:D

I wish lol went out there did up 4 propshaft bolts, repaired the fence -ish, and tied the gates closed I am bloody freezing! Trial fitted my one offset rim to the front and had to adjust my steering stops a bit so the tyre was clear of fouling the radius arm :(. I guess I'll have to use a 130 rim on the front near side till I can find another IIb so I can turn tighter right than left  ! Still I won a pair of suspension spacers on ebay for 99p so its not all bad. Jai

Ha ok! Shogun's back together with a new cam belt, water pump and idler. No serious leaks, job's a good 'un!

Hey I think I found the ostrich farm lane but am not too sure is it end or start next to a pub/tai restraunt? without revealing details exactly where it is. Jai
