Come on Kev, you know you want to.

You're not wrong, but have been away all week and need to do all those dull chores. BTW did LMAO at your text New Years eve/morning whatever it was. Anyway, will catch up with you and the rest of the team another time.

Hope you all have a great day out.

Cheers.

Allo All,
Just wondering if someone might be able to shed some light on something for me,
I was looking in a cupboard for the argos book the other night, and what do i find,,,,, 2 bearings,,hub seal and snap washer thing :O

ive had them the whole time it seems, when one of my front wheel bearings went, i got 2 sets so i could have the other side done too, and forgot about the spare set when my rear one went the other week,

Question is though, is the front ones the same as the rear?

And ive been told something about needing a press to fit the new bearing?
someone i know fitted the last one, but hes not about anymore :( so gonna try doing it myself

The wheel bearings are the same front and back, don't need a press to get them in or out just a drift or blunt chissel to knock the bearing races out, Best to buy a hub socket than try to bodge it only cost about £6.

That's it mate, if you haven't got new locking washers with the bearing kit try not to damage the old ones too much and just re-use them.

If you have a grinder grind the outter edge all the way around the old bearing race. If you cut it and split it you can leave rough edges and possibly cause damage to the new one plus if you leave it complete you will soon hear the difference in sound when the new bearing race is definatly home square.

Don't forget to pack the bearings with grease, and check which way round the seal goes oh and make sure you clean out all the crud from the hub and off the stub axle.

Did anyone go out today? me and a mate did the steppingly lane and the one up by woburn sands, one word of advice never do laning when you have a dodgy tummY!! on the steppingly lane we caught a couple, well lets say she had her mouth full!:censored: , My girlfriend had her 1st proper drive down a lane which she enjoyed. Happy new yr to everyone as well bit late but never mind

i went out for a bit today! had to put some mud on the defender, looked far to clean! just done a few up this way on me tod, no mud really, its all frozen over! then off to the sailing base where i pulled their nice rescue boat out the water for them, before heading home and drilling some holes to fit my new wheel carrier and defender dash from MUD STUFF :D

Nope no getting out for me today still clearing trees although it should be done and dusted by tomorrow evening back to landys again.

Boy did you guys miss an awesome day in Surrey. I'm still thawing out though.
Picked up some battle damage, but nothing too bad. Lots of pictures being posted on the Surret Thread.

Dan, good to here from you, Happy New Year.

Hey Dan, where you been hiding? Thought you had fallen off the planet.

Spyderman, saw the photos from Surrey, looked good - think the Rangey would have struggled with some of those ruts - they looked pretty deep, a bit like one of the lanes I did in Wales - assessed the damage today!! Nothing too bad, a couple of deep scratches and creased bodywork.

Is everbody going to the pub meet? I assume it will be Wednesday evening.

Kev,
Goonarmy's Rangie is identical to yours, nobody needed a tug today. The Ruts weren't deep they were just at scary angles. My Hi-Lift was touching the ground for about 50 feet. I'm sure it was the only thing stopping me going over.
