Pretty much all closed till May now. Best ones Herts/Essex border ATM. Join as next weekend if you like. Doesn't come tougher than Ashwell. Good to see Kev & Ryder going for a new stuck record.;)

Ashwell.:D Jai, Glenn & Me, so far.

I did a search for Ashwell on the forum, and in June you guys were talking about getting badly stuck. Was the suggestion of Ashwell a joke or are you going for it again?

I'd like to tag along, but don't know if my mota is up to that sort of challenge.

Trust me they mean it. Ashwell is the genuine lane from hell. Starts innocuous enough but you are suddenly plunged into the depths of ruts that are made from a cross between superglue and clay. Really is the product of the devil's asshole. Got slightly inconvenienced in my Shogun to the tune of 29 hours! Others got stuck too but managed to free themselves or eachother. When Jai_Landrover got there with a winch later he couldn't even get close. Even a farmer with a tractor took one look and said "I ain't going down there!"

If you're not modded you won't make it. I would love to drive it again but I am gonna wait until I have a few more recovery tricks up my sleeve.

What can I say he had a shogun it was never gonna make it!!
As with all green laning the ground conditions are very much dependant on the current weather sometimes its ok other times its evil!

If you are serious about wanting to come the only thing is to make sure you have good recovery points front and rear. They dont come much cheaper or easier than jate rings. You may need bump stops to stop your wheels fowling the arches rubbing and bringing you to a halt. Alternativly you could ride with one of us for a look see so you know how bad it is for next time. Jai

Probably counts me out of it then after today .... Go diffs deep :D

It's O.K. if you have enough speed on and the ruts aren't too deep but it gets pretty rough. From what I've been told Ashwell is tough. I did 40 foot with Spyderman and Jai_landrover that was challenging and they had to tug me out a couple of times but from what they have told me Ashwell is harder.

Its the one everyones been talking about... where you been?

Oh the issue...err... how about "tread lightly", "low impact", if the ruts are that deep and all that?

Yeah, know what you mean. I suppose the thing is common sense should be your guide. If you have doubts don't do it.

Ryder, Ashwell should be nice and smooth now, after the bottom of you Shogun planed the ruts smooth, as it was dragged out by the tractor.

If you can't walk down it, ride a bike down it, might as well drive it.;)

Ryder,

What time you wanna come over and torque up your various nuts and bolts?

Waiting for Rose to wake up, I have sole charge of Jas 'till then. Once she's awake I'll give you a call... realistically 11ish I'd guess if thats ok?
