just a radio and a so called mate has tried to wire the fog lights in without going through bcm ?With luck no damage to BeCM...but if the Dash is dim/not functioning and it blows a 10A fuse (hence the 30A) then you have a serious short and needs to be checked ASAP before a nasty end happens...
Try a 10A if that blows....you need to start taking the services that Fuse 1 Feeds apart to find any issues....
Do you have any aftermarket mods like different stereo or in car Bluetooth or such like that could have been badly bodged to fit hence the increased drain and possible short???

Do you mean should NOT be let loose ? and this from one that never makes a mistake Ha HaRemove the bodged Fog Lights Wiring and see if you have the same issue....
'Mates' should be let loose on P38 wiring unless they REALLY know what they are doing!
