Anybody know a reliable auto electrician in the leyland/preston area (Lancashire)? Fitted a new carling hazard warning switch to a new center console had it working at one point then the wiring fairy came along and didi something to it and now im just banging my head against a brick wall so gonna save wot hair i have left and pay someone to sort it..

Cheers guys

what is the problem your having with the wiring and was it ok beforehand, info pict's

Wired it up as per the insturctions all went well worked fine then disconnected it to fit the console and now nothing. if i change some wires i can get it to work but then the idicators dont work as it is indicators work fine while unless i flip the hazard switch then they stop. only thing i found a bit odd was that there is a switched live as well as a perm live but im no elec so who knows maybe thats normal.

Daft as it sounds the only thing i touched between it working and not working was i had to cut the back lights and reverse the connection coz the last owner had wired them back to front (brake element on for lights and light element on when brakeing) cant see any way thats connected but then it is a Landy so anything is poss.

Now ye did check to see if the tail/stop bulbs were in the right way round?;):D

wickford I didnt touch the relay only the connections to the switch which I had marked up to make sure i put them back in the right place.

Buster I did check the bulbs the pins on the bulb are staggered so you can only put them in one way

Aye true, but ye might find that they will fit either way in some cases;)

what model year etc .The hazard switch normally have a green fused feed from ignition circuit and a purple permanent fused from battery. A green /white and green/red cables to indicators light green/brown going to column switch and flasher relay ,basically the hazard switch changes the feed to the flasher relay from green to purple and at the same time links the green/red and green/white to light green/brown over-riding the column switch and making all indicator flash, some pict's of back of switch and rather curious to see picts of light you had to change over ?
