Hi guys,
I have an ongoing EAS fault on my P38.
I have a hard fault "Slow 35MPH" and "EAS Fault" on dash.
(Info display also shows various windows not set or something).
As from Friday, I now have the "EASUnlock" application, the bespoke OBD2 lead and Serial Adaptor - However I think my lead is a faulty one.
- I had to gently adjust the leads position when it was in the OBD2 plug for EASUnlock to read "GOOD IDLE". However, once I get the lead in ok and restart EASUnlock, it loses the connection only for me to have to adjust the position of the lead again. I tried splicing in another OBD2 port from a scrap P38 (incase the problem was car-side, plus I didnt have a spare lead). This OBD plug sits better alhtough with this one I can not even adjust the plug to get an idle reading - so back to the old one!
Basically the laptop won't talk to the computer on start up of the software (or "initialize" properly in EASUnlock).
On times when I have managed to get a "GOOD IDLE" reading, then run the fault code collector, I get "RH Front Height sensor - incorrect reading" (or similar wording - I cant remember the exact phrase) ...BUT on pressing "Unlock" nothing happens and the "Slow 35 MPH" is still on the dash
I can turn the pump on/off using the software and lead if I manage to position it carefully enough in the plug (although this doesn't raise the vehicle) and I can also obtain readings of height sensors etc etc.
I have also tried 2 x ANR4499 Suspension ECU's and the same problem manifests.
The vehicle has had 4 x replacement airbags and suposedly a recon pump before I bought it - but as I have mentioned, EASUnlock will run the pump at least.
I'm looking for someone locally who may have an EAS Kicker that they could plug in for me for a beer (or even sell me the unit - as I have exhausted eBay this weekend...nothing's local (and I mean up to 150 miles) - typical.
......Or even just some advice, short of me phoning the Samaritans!!! LOL!
Any help appreciated guys!
Thanks,
Geri.
