i can help out on that one and say nope and i've remove the egr the blank plate will be housing my EGT when i get everything else fixed lol only sensor i could find related to the EGR was the throttle position sensor that is also now unplugged in the engine bay
I didn't say it was egr, but the egr sensor.

Don't forget to blank the vacuum pipe
the EGR is removed new top pipe, blanking plate and capped the vacume that was all done umm some months ago lol not sure how many but anyways the EGR isnt related to my problem so gonna stop looking at EGR stuff and get back to what i need to right now. testing to see if its head gasket or one of many other things.

i kinda jinxed myself on this one cause earlier on track i mentioned it was nice to see under the disco and not have something leaking for a change....

its a temp sensor for the egr it wont have an effect on engine running
thanks for clearing it up james :) quick question related to it though is it worth leaving it plugged in (connected/wired) without having the EGR does it report back to the ECU or something. took the throttle position sensor off a while ago when i took the EGR off cant say i noticed a difference so left it off you may be the guy to ask do i actually need that for anything now the EGR is gone! should i plug it back in haha

wont matter if its plugged in or not, your egr is blanked, the ecu under the seat cant do anything to effect running whether that or throttle pot is plugged in or not

ok not sure how to put this so i'll put what i can and answer any questions when they come to me.

went for a drive today and on the way back i noticed i had NO power was traveling at about 55mph put my foot to the floor still traveling 55mph so i pulled over.

temp gauge was reading normal blowers still blowing hot but....
opened up the oil filler and it was clearly over temp and smoking (not loads but enough)
coolant bottle was very pressured and over full spilling out as soon as i opened it up.
removed the caps from the rad and thermo housing. rad was ok but thermo was low.

no signs of any leaks and no signs of oil in the water or water in the oil!

could this be head gasket gone and pumping gasses into the coolant!
how would i check it!
what else can it be/should i look at!

roll in the questions and suggestions guys i need to get on this asap cant afford to kill it just yet although at one point on my limp home staying under 1200rpm i did debate on just rolling it off a cliff

thanks in advance as always guys.
run it for a few trips if it loses coolant and gets hot likely head gasket ,though your lack of power doesnt fit normal start of head gasket issue, thats usually a fuel or air issue

the power loss was seemed to be up in the turbo range. as for the coolant all i can tell you is that when i took the cap off slowly it pumped coolant out of the bottle when it stopped pouring out the bottle was full. i put the cap back on and opened up the thermo housing cap and that was dry. took the cap back off the res bottle and it took some back in. tomorrow im planning on bleeding it and going for a short drive then rechecking the levels etc will also look at all the hoses for air and pipes for fuel just to be sure but i can say without any doubt that the temp gauge in the car read normal maybe even a little under normal and the engine was HOT.
i'll update with anything and everything i find tomorrow :) thanks again guys

just fill till thermostat housing plug hole over flows ,hold on to the flexi hose between manifold and inter cooler and rev engine you should feel it expand with pressure

as i said i would time for the update first here is a video .....

secondly my temp gauge still go's up to normal and blowers stay hot...

finally the water pump/pulley squealing like a pig in a slaughter house.

only took it on a short trip about 3 miles stayed under 2k rev's by time i got to where i was going thermo housing was empty and res was almost full.
