Hi guys (and gals) or whatever you like to be identified as in this current age.

Just bought myself a 55 plate td4 freelander auto and am already finding things that mysteriously don’t work, got her booked in to have gearbox oil done and the VCU and IRD next month so that’s the wallet well AND truly emptied.

Looking forward to finding some answers on life’s (and freelander related) questions!

Hello and welcome :)

Nice thing a Freelander, warming to them myself.

Does your's have a known Gbox/IRD/VCU problem package or are doing a bit of preemptive maintenance :)

Hi...the thing pulls away fine then when you level off into a cruising speed there is a vibration through the whole car, noticed today it takes effort to reverse too....oh and the high level brake light doesn’t work, EVEN after a brand spanking new bulb!

Ram....going oldskool....like it, this is my daily so want it running right, git a ‘toy’ in the garage for fun!

Yes Hitch I can see that having a car with all the modern tech is probably more suitable for a daily, but at the same time I don't need a warning message telling me that my passenger has just farted

I must admit...this modern gadget stuff is annoying....my other car reeks of it, I just like motor I can I dive into with a socket set, just replaced the rear diff mounts but electrics and electronics phase me out!!
