Hi, just had the head done on my freelander K series engine. Guy in leicester will strip it, rebuild the head encluding surface grinding, new valves seals bolts etc, rebuild it onto your engine, for £315. All you do is get it to him. Excellent value and service. he will also rebuild your head if you strip it from engine, for just over £100.
I took my freelander up from Paignton. It worked out far cheaper to travel 222 miles for job than have it done locally. 12 months or 12000 miles warrenty. Excellent bloke and service. Guy is his name on 07730012280. Tell him Andy in Paignton recommended him.
He can also arrange cheap recovery as well if needed.
He will also do must other heads as well

it might be an easy job, but I dont have the equipment to grind the head off, replace the bits in the head, or refurbish them. then rebuild, with new water pump etc. So for us none skilled without engineering equipment its great value

Well it not my thread, I'm happy for any one to come to Paignton and see the Job Guy did for me if that helps Soloby Rob

What did he do? Head skimmed and rebuilt? Cam belt kit and water pump. Mls gasket kit and shim. New bolts Change coolant and oil? Flush out? New hoses if they were contaminated?

I am the Guy mentioned in this thread, I'm not sure what meat based product you've been using but its not advisable when completeing a head rebuild, every head rebuild I do is a full head strip down so its a bare casting, its degreased in a hotwash tank and bead vapour blasted so it looks like new not just painted like some bodgers do, the valves and seats are reground, the head face and inlet and exhaust gasket faces are skimmed , the valves get lapped in and the head is hotwashed again and then it's all built back up using new payen gaskets and seals, the head is refitted to the engine along with new water pump, thermostat, cambelt, tensioner and rad cap, it also get plugs oil and air filter and O.A.T antifreeze and valvoline oil. I'm now 400 heads on and I've only ever had one fail and that was due to a seized cooling fan so as for your meat based product don't tar us all with the same brush, some of us are perfectionists!!
