shows your disregard for the rural habitat, like i said last night the only reason that tree was cut down was to prevent scratching the vehicles
you have a legal right to make sure that a byway is passable by its intended vehicles. this means that if your land rover cant get through and the tree could incur damage, then it is perfectly legal, and fine to fell a tree, trim a hedge, move a stone, etc etc.

i agree if its not a lane and you do anything like that to gain illegal access to land then you ought to be hung up to dry with the rest of 'em.

i wouldnt say its a disregard for a rural habitat to fell a tree if it means the byway is then passable, and can be ENJOYED by the public.
if you saw a tree surgeon cut down that tree or fell it would you make as much of a noise? no.

i have no beef with anyone. exept for this johnnylad who thinks its perfectly fine to laugh at those who have had their pride and joys stolen. of which i would never wish that though on anyone even said johnnylad. its just plain harsh. and for him to keep saying that were the dickheads for defending this matter is just plain bull****. its him whos the dickhead for being such a.. well.. dickhead to be blunt! :)

Youre missing the point... if the tree required moving how then did you all manage to drive arround the stump??? surely if it was growing in the middle of a lane and couldnt have been driven arround you would have to cut it down, you would then have to drive over it. i didnt see anyone driving over it.

it was growing at 45 degrees across the track at windscreen height... like i said earlier...

From the navigator of the trip: "You can tell them that when i sort route i do liase with CC's, the maps i've used for those routes were bought about 2 weeks before it. check for tro's etc and use gps mapping to get the right route as well"

Its not easy to sum up after so many pages, but I will attempt a summing up:

'Dont put videos which contain chopping trees and green laning in the same shot on YouTube. We might all know its legal but its certainly doesn't look good and there is argument either way to say whether it was necessary or not, but the simple way to get around it on future is not to film it.'

Howzat?

Mr Noisy you have made a fair comment... i think the video would of been ok if it shown the situation we were in better so the knowitallknow****alls could see why we made the decision to remove the tree but it was just edited highlights

Atleast you were on a Non-TRO'ed Legal lane when you cut that tree down, Unlike certian members of this forum....
