The Landy is still quite hot from using it but I managed to get my finger round the actuator arm and couldn't budge it. I didn't swing off it but gave it a firm pull. How much resistance should it have or does it sound stuck? When its cool tommorow morning I'm thinking of wraping some wire round it and pulling on that as space is limited.
Missed this bit.
The turbo actuator is very stiff in operation .. even when the turbo is off it's hard to pull, but when it does move it should be smooth, not jerky. While you have the turbo inlet pipe off, feel the end of the turbo for free play. There should be about 0.5mm of movement, indeed it should feel quite loose as it runs in an oil-filled journal. Mine had a few chips on the leading edges, presumably from a dunking and grit/sand getting into the system, but so long as the chips aren't stupidly large they shouldn't upset the balance too much.
