Ive jist got under and greased my UJs and they were a little on the dry side. So get under yours and grease away. For the sake of a 5 min job can save you some dosh on UJ failure.

I also topped up the oil level in my rear axle and added screen wash.

I think that next time my wife suggests I need to water the garden, I'll just go fettling to see if that saves me getting the hose out.

This is a good point, my disco started the whine of a dry uj other day; was too old and didn't have a grease nipple on it, was gana buy a new one, week later the clonk of doom appeared and the uj bearings had shattered so now I'm stuck till part arrives tomorrow haha. Should have ordered sooner

Pretty much. I thought it'd last abit longer haha
Telling me you've never put a job off? :D
I don't use it for work either so I wasn't that worried just didn't get around to sorting cos busy!

in there wisdom there arnt any grease nipples on mine :(
Mine didn't either the origional factory spec ones don't have them. I swapped mine for grease able ones glad I did both as the "okay" one was also cracked.
The cardan joint is a bastard but doable. I didn't change the center bearing it was okay the gasket was slightly perished but I can't see a problem unless wading. 2 "heavy duty" grease able uj's off fleabay for 15 quid and some swears later drives million times better
Make sure you don't loss any needle bearings if you take to bits and grease them to hold in place when putting together or they all fall out. If you haven't got a prop bolt tool a 3/8 drive 9/16 socket works perfect on a whiz gun the half inch drive ones too big

Don't you hate it when trying to grease a UJ and the grease goes to three journals but not to the one that realy needs it.
