The fans can come on if the CAN is down on the car to the engine ecu

What was in the connector where the overlay harness was connected incorrectly and have these pins been replaced?

Being honest i dont know. It was the fuel pressure switch repair harness.
He plugged all the new wires into the black side of multiplug. But one should have went to the grey side of the plug. I have counted as per instruction and have put the new harness pins in pin slot 20 and 33 and 35 but its still doing the same

Excuse my ignorance im not a mechanic. But what is the Can??? The only wires i removed are the ones for new harness.
My mate had removed 2 right wires and one wrong wire which has now been rectified. But td4 still not atarting and still cooling fan and temp gauge doing the same. What damage could he have caused temoving ecu wires etc without disconnecting the battery

If the ignition was off and the ecu was disconnected it shouldn’t cause any issues whether the battery was connected or not.

CAN is the comms network on the car and is how the engine temp is sent to the gauge.

Do you know which wires or terminal position he removed and can you confirm where the new wires are plugged in for the fuel rail pressure sensor?

I suspect the wires are in the wrong positions which is why you can’t start the car and the temp gauge isn’t working

Ecu was fried. Have new one in process of fitting the new ccu and immobiliser box

Thanks for your help, got a secondhand ecu and all corresponding parts with it. is there an easier way of accessing the immobiliser control unit behind the dashboard other than removing dash.
I have removed radio etc and can see the multiplug on the unit my thoughts were to access this by cutting access hole in the back of the compartment under steering wheel. unplugging it and plugging into the new one I have with the ecu. which I can then tie straps to secure the new one. do you know if I will have to change the central control unit

I have the key from the donor vehicle. is it possible to swap the chip into my own key

CCU doesn’t need to be changed - make sure you swap the key transponders over to your original keys

The immobiliser is tough to get to but can be done by being in footwell and working above you’re head that way

Ok thanks so where is the chip in new key or in the fob. and do I need to do anything with the original chip in my original key

Chip is in the key - prize apart the key and you’ll see the chip in there.

Make sure you don’t get them mixed up but swap them from the new keys to your original keys
