You know I nearly said it was the MAF. Glad it got sorted and a lesson for use all. If you suspect the MAF, Unplug it and see what happensWell after a long struggle I've managed to sort this out.
I replaced the fuel pressure rail sensor and it wasn't that so Ive just replaced maf and it's running beautifully.

How much was the fuel pressure rail sensor and where did you get it?Well after a long struggle I've managed to sort this out.

It was about £30. It came from ebay.
What did you replace it with? New or a second hand one? How does its connector look? Does it look good or does it look shagged?Just to revive my old thread, my engine management light has come on again !
So the last thing I done was change the maf sensor and this seemed to do the job, but obviously not.
What happens now is if I unplug the maf it runs properly again with no engine light on but I assume that's just because it's running on a default map.
Any ideas ? I think my only option is to get I plugged in and have the fault codes checked.
Yes looks like you need the codes read other wise you are just chasing your tail.i replaced it with a bosch maf. The wires looked fine on the connector. I even sprayed them with contact cleaner before fitting just to make sure.
Just been to the local garage and there card reader couldn't communicate with the td4. There bringing up there other diagnostic kit from there other garage on Monday, so fingers crossed I will know more then.
