Hi all,
Changed fuel filter and pump in our 2003 freelander because it cut out while driving.

After a day of no problems it once again cut out. My wife is stranded with it as it doesn't want to run stationary now. Haven't tried to read codes yet as the car is not here but last time there were none.

Engine light comes on though, so hopefully I get something this time.

Any ideas?

Hopefully it'll just be one of the sensors on its way out, cam or fuel rail. They should give you a fault code. Got my fingers crossed it's an easy one. Mike

hope it is not like mine ,rivets fell out of pump cradle pipes come off and diesel every where only advise I can give join aa or rac worth every penny if you got a freelander td4:)

I am the AA with my Disco 2, this is the second time I had to rescue it. LOL

Just have it back there, it runs rough idle and stops after a while when stationary. Engine light comes on.
Need to download a program to read codes which I am doing now.

Hi Mike,
I was working late all week. No codes as the engine light is off again. I didn't try disconnecting the MAF yet but will tomorrow as it is Paddy's day here and I am off.

Well make sure you keep some free time for a drink or two........ Three.......... Four, you get the idea;)

when you sober up a bit what kind of reader you got bought so many crap ones from amazon most told me there was no fault on the ecu when mil light is on! ,found a good cheap one from car soft its an "i 90" seems to work fine and under hundred quid

bought so many that say they can read land rover even got the logo right but that's about all the one I have got now can provide a data stream if you can understand that kind of thing understand rpm, volts but have no clue about metric, pounds per square inch that's what I say does disco and range rover as well

If you can afford it, get one that says, all system or full system. This will not only read the engine ecu, but also the ABS ecu, autobox ecu, and anything other ecu's on the car. Not all fault codes are logged in the engine ecu.
Mike

I had a cheap Bluetooth unit said no codes. Invested in the i930 a few weeks back. Read my main ecu and sirs codes and cleared them. Still playing to see what it can do

Got to admit, I am waiting for my Icarsoft LR2, to be delivered.
Got some cash given to me recently, and told treat yourself!!! So I have.
Got it from UKpartsdirect, it's on sale at the mo.
If you order one, put 'GIVEME5' in the coupon bit. You'll get 5% off.
Mike :)
