I'd love the winch, though with a V6 there's no room :(

It's designed for the Warrior Samurai 9500SD & the new version has the control box mounted to the side on top of the motor, I'm pretty certain that will fit below the bumper line of the V6 pre facelift, or is there something that sticks out in front of the mounting pads for your existing aluminium bumper support ?

The pre facelift V6 bumper sticks out 50mm more than the pre facelift 4 cylinder bumper. There's a reason for that. The radiator is 50mm further forward to accommodate the engine!!
The AC condenser is mounted where your winch is.
The facelift bumper on the 4 cylinder Freelander is pretty empty, sadly not so with the V6.
I'll see if I can look out a picture.

Yeah that would be great if you can, so even the V6 facelift bumper is pretty full then

Dimensionally the facelift bumper is exactly the same as the pre facelift V6 bumper. This ment LR only needed 1 front bumper for all engine types instead of the previous 2.
So yes even the facelift V6 front bumper is full of obstructions.

The things you see when you have got your gun !!
With Lincs Search & Rescue, tasked with transporting a 1.5 ton field gun to the Airfield Anarchy event at Newark. Track of gun was so wide that it ran over the wheel arches of the trailer....no problem winching it on with the trailer winch but getting it off was difficult........enter the winch equiped Freelander ;)

Went for a winching session today on a proper winching piste & am ready to declare this winch / bracket combination the dogs bollocks, can easilly recover a Freelander from any situation where its wheels are still at the bottom & roofrack at the top. Am really quite proud of this, it gives the Freelander an extra dimension to its already impressive resume, if only I could build a bedsit in the back....

Well, front is still on place , and bad signs ? :D

Pics with sea on background are really nice :)

Well done. Another ad in LRO Magazine hopefully. Get it out to the masses who aren't on this forum but dream of fitting a winch to their Freelander.
This is great. Finally people can buy those elusive accessories that the main stream manufacturers have been too blind to produce.

Lol, thanks, they are on e-bay ;)

The design is modular, the two end pieces are seperate & are fixed in the same places as the Mantec front reciever hitch bracket, ie they have a piece that drops down to the strong point under the front which spreads the load & stops the whole thing from twisting if pulling at an angle vertically. The centre piece could be modified to accept any reasonable size winch, I used a short drum winch but I can see that a normal winch would have fitted just as well. The centre section could also be moved back at least 4 cms possibly more.
The price if its finished in Black powder coat will be around the 300 quids mark. That might sound a lot but its comparable to similarly designed Defender & Disco bumpers.

Hey... is the option to buy and ship one of these still available?
I'm from Trinidad & Tobago.

Hi

I know im a year late but do you still have any of these for sale?

I am in desperate need for one of these and not having a lot of luck finding one on the internet.

Amazing product and looks fantastic, it is perfect for my volunteer job in north wales helping to recover the elderly and ambulances over the winter in bad conditions.

Thanks

Hi there

Know it's a year old post (since last post) - but I'm really interested in a winch mount for my L-series. Any news regards this? Thanks...
