glad your back on the case fanny, whos us some pics of the gear/transfer box set up when you get a chance plz :)

Sure, I need to get it apart for final assembly, the machine shop is next to auto box reconditioner, allegedly they agree with guy it will be strong enough.

I'll reserve judgement, there are a couple of things I need to do-but I wanted it back so my fault I need to do them

been looking at wiring diagram after stuck two and half hours down hospital gp walk in as my doctors fully booked earlier.
Had trouble breathing last night and a 5 day headache- went to pick up some kit this morning and had to sit down= chest infection:(

Been told to take it easy:- so bang goes fabricating engine mounts till at least early next week-but collected some 6mm steel to make them.

the lexus ls 400 I cut up is a 1997 on a change over, the two wiring diagrams don't match on cruise control- if anyone has one that may be right I'd be grateful as I have one wire that I'm 99% sure on its location.

I've found a Toyota Denso diagram right pin and colours.

If anyone is interested the reason it is a pain in the backside is I have a change over year, only diagrams that have right engine trans ecu the colours don't always match, also there were loads of connectors with colour changes. I have about a dustbin of spare wires. I have sorted wire cuts by colour and bundled. I'm using loom tape and as it isn't sticky it can be picked undone to lengthen or shorten final loom.

All I need is a miracle, waiting for seals and autobox oil, converted disco lt230 to defender hand brake.
Mate has helped with cleaning engine bay and I need to get a diesel pickup and external fuel pump as Lexus one does not fit in tank-any ideas for a cheap external 8mm fuel hose connection?

Must be over 41psi and suitable flow rate.

I also have oil filter concern with chassis -find out tomorrow

8mm copper compression fitting with 8 mm speedfit insert? Plumbing suppliers. Gawd knows.......good luck

Dom dom.....dom dom dom dom.......da da dom dom......da da dom dom ;)

if I can find something similar or I have found a renault five turbo oil filter will fit, so I'm going to contact an oil filter manufacturer for flow rates between listed and suggested filters-cheap fix if compatible

Box built up, auto hanging in and sitting on square Transmission cross member with block of wood. Concerned about crank pulley as conversion is longer than I agreed.

Going to try to get engine in for trial fitting sometime tomorrow

how close is the crank pulley mate and is it possible to shim a chunk out of yer front crossmember to accomodate it ( sort of step cut n boxed in the back )

this shouldnt decrease the crossmembers structural integrity too much as the front bumper acts as a fookin big brace anyway :smokin::smokin:

the power steering pump will need altering, so I think 10mm, but it was dark and after humping the autobox in I didn't feel keen.

tomorrow in daylight I reckon a trial run and see what happens- I also have suspicions that I will need a remote oil filter.have a nasty feeling I will need a soarer sump, upper sump dipstick and pickup.

of course it depends how it sits- where's zen when you want him for sump and oil filter advice?

seven stand off's, the casing has been machined, the lot is bolted together with stud and bearing lock tight and it will fit in using disco diflock leaver and most likely 6mm metal plate to attach it.
seat box may need a tickle but it should be minor

mates getting a lexus lump fitted into his toyota. he might be able to help.

When people do conversions they don't put pictures and seem reluctant to say how they have done it, but I'm all for solutions

looking good mate, good to see how that bit fits together at last

ftc5090 has a bolt down through it not shown- pulls it up tight, I also have spline fretting concerns as there isn't oil to remove swarf- so super strong sud and bearing lock on it.
Space is critical and Ideally I would have preferred a shorter conversion, that said it fits-just
