I fink Od, its an abrev of "Already salted" - coz at one time, a million years ago - yu got bags of crisps wivan ickle blue bag of salt inside to salt em yoself - so these are already salted - see?

crisps didn't used to come any flavour and with no salt on them.
you got a little blue bag of salt to add yourself if you wanted to.
then Golden Wonder invented "Ready Salted" and the rest is history.......
