Id rather have a go and try to do it myself so any help is much appreciated:confused:

Under no circumstances should you find the little slot on the top or bottom of the light and put a flatblade screwdriver in it and ease the lens off.

tried the screwdriver appraoch through the small holes situated around the fog light casing but I swear they appear to be joined.

Why do you want to do this?

These so-called foglights serve no useful purpose, especially if it's FOGGY.

Why don't you pull the fuse on them, leave them alone, and save yourself a lot of trouble, and save all the rest of us having to look at the glare from stupid foglights on clear nights, or foggy ones?

As it's an 03, I'm guessing it's a facelift with the round fog lights

Here's an extract from the Owner's Handbook, detailing how to get at the bulb -

Discovery II Facelift - Front Fog Light Bulbs.jpg

And here's a cut and paste of the two relevant sections from the Workshop Manual, detailing the removal of the front bumper end trim and then the removal of the fogs lamps -

If your Discovery is a late-registered pre-facelift, let me know and I'll post up the relevant pages.

For God's sake don't encourage him ... foglights should be banned and made a capital offence.

If you're referring to the Saxo/Corsa/BMW To$$ers that drive around with fog lights on all the time, then I agree.

But...

when used in the appropriate conditions, i.e. - only in poor visibility (fog and HEAVY rain)

and if they're correctly mounted and adjusted, then they shouldn't dazzle oncoming drivers and are great benefit to help see the road in front.

The fogs on mine were corroded as fook.
With use of an appropriate angle grinder you too can have air scoops on yer front bumper!! :D
