I recently had a new flywheel and clutch fitted to my tdi300. I am a little concerned about the diesel knock and decided to check the pump timing. When I set the engine up with the flywheel mark, the pump checking slot was I the 4 o'clock position. The last time I checked it it was I the 11 o'clock position. Before the flywheel was replaced. Could the flywheel have been fitted 180 degrees out by the garage? When I did check the timing in the 4 o'clock position the pulley seemed to click into position and the engine would start and was quiet. It would then miss fire until revving with blue smoke. Is this too retarded causing this issue? Thanks in advance for your help.
Mike.
