1) loads of them
2) buy a map or memory map
3) do not go our in your own
4) treat them with respect.
5) read the LZ international rescue thread
6) :search: for "Basingstoke"
7) look in the green laning section

Ok cheers for that:), hoping my brother will have a motor soon enough to go out with,
Just a local map will have them in then?

Check out the wise words hereabouts to prepare properly. Never go out on your own unless you are certain the lanes are v easy. There are several laners in the area who will go out on noob runs - look out for postings here.

You will need a local map, but double check the Surrey and Hants County Council sites for up-to-date TRO information and closures. Green lanes are becoming a very rare item so if you drive em, treat with some care.

Key thing is to have fun and enjoy the scenery.

not necessarily, you will need to have OS maps, either 1:50 000 or 1:25 000 (1:25 00 is the better one as it has a lot more detail) or Memory Map.

My bf and I are only just up the road if you fancy going out sometime, or keep an eye on either the Guildford Lanes thread or the Surrey Lanes thread, as there is always things going on there

You guys aren't a massive distance from me either (Surrey/Walton on Thames) so if you arrange something then I would be interested in coming to try out some new lanes!

im in portsmouth area, and an hr away from the mentioned areas, il be up for some light noob type action with nothing that poses a real risk of damage/scrapes etc

I'm in Hook but landys off the road whilst refurbishing me house, shout next year and I can show you some places our way.

I use Streetmap.co.uk, level 3 zoom, as it shows the byways. Search on there, take a photo of it with my phone, head out and check it out.

Am def up for local laning
