Howdy howdy howdy,

So I think I have worked out why my bus loses power, the FIP is considerably wet with diesel, so I assume it is the seals have gone. As I am not confident with the fine tuning portion at the end of the job (I don't mind ****ing with the work fleet but hate working on my own bus), I am wondering if anyone knows a good garage in the Heathrow area who could carry out the work.
It can drive if I stay under 70mph so I'm able to move further afield but as I'd need to get back to work, obviously a massive pilgrimage isn't ideal.

Cheers in advance.

Sawyers is on the A30 London Road inbetween Ashford and Staines they are a known LR indy.

Addendum.... Further afield is Rangers of Guildford on the Slyfield industrial estate and they have done me a solid a few times (no affiliation)

I can send.yoy an easy to follow step by step guide to reseal it your self
When I searched the forum I saw you need to tweak the top back and forth, which was off-putting. I'd hate to cock it up and be without a vehicle. Especially as I am due on holiday in 2 weeks. If it is simpleton safe, then I wouldn't mind a look.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll give them a bell, see what I can find out.

@Bix sorry I didn't get back to you things went a bit haywire as ran has packed up and transport is limited, can still hook it up for you if we can get together.
@Dopey knows a good guy called max in Horton road Yiewsley who is very good with the bmw diesel and knows landys, resealed his pump.

search YOUTUBE for VP37 pump seal and you will get 7 video clips with clear instructions. Follow it carefully, The pump shown is a 4 cylinder one ours 6 cylinder , that's the only difference.

+1. Max is the business on anything with a BMW lump. Only thing worth bearing in mind is if the pump is over 120k miles it is probably getting tired and worth replacing anyway.

Don't say that, my pump has done a lot of miles and until I'm back from Falklands next year I don't really have the money for a pump. I just need her to last until November, even if it means paying to reseal the pump for now and replace it next year.

It is no bother, in the end I paid LR to chuck it on Testbook. Was only 60 of my British Pounds. They then wanted "at least 2 hours to confirm" you could see the diesel leaking, what was needed to confirm?
And I'll give him a PM see if I can get her sorted.
