When all said and done, if the vehicle is visible and the thief is persistant enough (and keen enough) then they'll have it. Locked in a garage, or boxed in by other vehicles, is probably as good as any deterrent if you have the space.

A 200db alarm linked to it's own backup battery via a latching relay and trembler switch, mounted inside the vehicle as far back as possible in it's own metal box.

It is armed/disarmed by a hidden key switch which is wired into the relay circuit as NC. If the circuit is broken the alarm goes off, and can be heard 2 streets down!

I defy anyone to remain inside when it goes off.

I forgot to disarm it when I removed the battery ... but only the once!!

200db, really ? what are you using to power that ?

I leave my xxxxxxxxxx unlocked, no one has nicked the bugger yet  guess the model. snip snip..... :p

drive it into a muddy bog every night and then pull it out with the tractor in the morning... sorted

Where you live and where you keep it is a big factor!!

And as already said blocking in with other cars is good as there is more than 1 vehicle you need to break into

Nothing will stop a low loader with a hiab to pick it up and away you go.

The best thing is make it as hard as possible but still be realistic.
Removing 100 locks before you go to work every day ain't gonna happen

Me track car maybe! It's alarmed up to the hilt, snap off steering wheel, and it's right under my down stairs bedroom window. Sleep less than 8 feet from it ha ha, paranoid? Me? Never

I'd be impressed if someone got my series on a low loader - parked between 2 houses with a gap less than a meter passed it, blocked in by 2 other vehicles on the drive.

I feel that might stop a low loader :)

Good point after all insurance companies are happy to pay out the full value of your loss, and wouldn't dream of upping your loading the following year due to a claim (protected NCB or not) and will ensure you are back on the road immediately with no inconvenience, no silly offers, no frustrated phone calls cos they are all wonderful :)

However back here on planet earth is another story just look at all the insurance not paying enough and problem posts that regularly appear...

Cheers steve

Meh, it's only time and money I think I'll just not worry my life away about it :)

You have a point, mine is on driveway blocked in by two cars and its under my bedroom window and all that but if they want it they WILL get it!!

[.......]but if they want it they WILL get it!!

If I really want the cash contained within the local ATM machine, I WILL get it........but (in reality) what a bloody faff.

Lot's of (fallible) security. But what a risk and what a pain. Almost not worth it ;)
