after a weekend of green laning and 3 river crossings my defender 90 pickup was full of mud and i felt i had abused her! so spent my lunchtime today washing the old girl off now im gonna treat her to new rear mudflaps and new genuine rubber front mats, mainly to make me feel better and hopefully less guilty :D
does anybody else feel/suffer like this

let me know muchos gracias, phil.

Nope, they're made to take it! Mine isn't terrible but it hasn't had a wash in about 4 months and that's just the way I like it. Filthy, used and abused looking but overall in reasonable condition! It doesn't have emotions, it's just a clump of metal that moves.

You seem to know your stuff, so I guess I'm going to stop talking to Stinky, erm, my car. Too bads. It's been what I thought was an important part of keeping the damn thing going.

Me knowing my stuff!? There's nothing wrong with talking to a moving clump of metal just to encourage it along, it just doesn't matter if it's dirty... the car that is, not the talk :D

I must admit I do talk to mine sometimes as well ;)
I think they prefer to be a bit muddy make's em look mean and cool at the same time:)

I do feel guilty on occasions, so when that happens I tend to give it a good wash and polish with Meguiars, hoover the insides then spend money on goodies....however I seem to spend money/time on making it that nice that I dont want to go get it dirty lol

sometimes I think to myself about selling the old girl...soz..I mean the old lump of metal. Then I subconsciously grab the dash and mutter to myself 'sorry, i didnt mean it', just lowd enough for her to hear.

I talk to my Pumkin all the time.
I think its OK.
As long as you dont hear them answer back.

A dirty Landy is a happy Landy ... I know, coz she tells me!

On those rare occasions I use God's Car Wash!
