She looks taller than me. You should get her a Heynes manual and toolbox now. Won't be long before you'll have an apprentice to reach those awkward nuts and bolts. Not that you should encourage child labour... ;D
I do have some pictures of her sorting out Wheel nuts and playing with spanners......
 
Head Office has asked me to look into an Android Application for our company to give a 'differentiator' when they are going for contracts....what that is yet I have no idea...they just said, we want an App, but no idea what we want it to do, or what it can do.....so I am rapidly trying to learn C# and Java at the moment !!!!

Summer (our daughter is assume.... and turning into a right character....bless her...21 months old now!

Convince them the Android App should be P38 based . . . . . . and btw your daughter will be driving the LR sooner than you think !! My kids got behind the wheel of my classic long before they could reach the pedals.

Got a picture of her at about 15 months, sitting on my lap driving the L322 round Woburn Safari Park last year.....

Damn, that is so sweet I think it gave me diabetes. Damn kids and their adorableness.
 
Just to update :

Stripped down to the head yesterday. Could see the valley gasket had taken a pounding from the leak between cylinders 5&3. Also noticed the headbolt (with helicoil) was looking rather suspect. Gave it a bit of a tease with a wrench & i could almost wind the thing out by hand. So, it seems the helicoil has failed. Will see more when i get the head off. Just waiting for my impact socket to arrive.

Stripped down to the head yesterday.
Pardon my intrusion, I'm not a V8 expert, but in that photo the head bolt looks very heavily coated with sludge while the valve springs etc and rocker area look pretty pristine, did you not replace the head bolts with a new set when rebuilding your engine? If not that could well be the reason for premi failure of the head gasket, many head bolts are TTY, (Torque To Yield), these days and will only cope with one time usage, they are pre-tensioned then tightened finally in two angle of rotation steps, to not replace all the bolts with new ones is a fatal error, not at all like the earlier engine head bolts/studs which were mostly re-usable and simply tightened with a torque wrench..

Yes, the head bolts were new (stretch bolts), my attention was drawn to this bolt as it looked sludgy / rusty compared with the other 9 looking fresh. Have pulled the head now....interesting .......photos to follow soon.
 
Ok, so head off.
Noticed bolts 6 (dirty one) & also 9 were loose (numbers as per RAVE bolt sequence), 9 was a little tighter but certainly didn't crack off like the rest. The gasket tells the story.
Good News : the helicoil was actually on bolt 10 which appears to have held up :)
Bad News : Looks like the threads have failed on 6&9 though. Also, will need to see what the damage is to the block from the blow out. Providing the block is ok, my plan is to helicoil the lot (i still have 9 left in the kit).

The good news its just the gasket failed then but looks like incorrect torqueing down of the head caused the failure, didnt the garage do that last time ???
 
Same garage always done the head gaskets Dave (& built most of the engine).
I do suspect it's the block threads giving way though. The bolts were just too loose.
Good news is that the block looks ok, thank god for the top hats as they took the brunt of the heat. A bit of careful cleaning with some scotchbrite cleaned was was just carbon build up on the block face.

.....And wash the bores and crowns before re-assembly else the crap in them could damage the liners!
