Price is a steep for them maybe thats why a lot of people go for the gap iid at third of the price, guess it must do a lot more for that money.

Blackbox now do and Android based diagnostic called Rovacom iQ, might be less expensive. Not sure if it covers your model as I can't access the Blackbox site with my old computer.

Cheers for the responses
I have a GAP unit already but I want to initialise and reprogram ECUs etc on my vehicle

indeed. I have the FM MSV2 Extreme for the P38. Just to add the L322 onto it they want £700.

Stuff that. The IID tool is nearly half that.

Not a good business plan to price yourself out of the market
During the financial crisis, the Greek government was ordered by the EU to take money from private and business accounts. I think they emptied the BBS accounts so maybe they are trying to make up the loss.

I remember it well Keith. It set the precident in the EU that ownership of property means nothing if so decided.

However if BBS want to recoup they are more likely toby lowering the price and selling more than hiking the price and selling less and in effect shutting themselves out of the current and future market.

I looked at the faultmate for my l322 and decided it was far too expensive.
Went for gap in the end. It's OK but not a patch on nanocom. Not delved deeply into it yet but nowhere near as comprehensive as nanocom.

nanocom wont do my model year !

There is a gap in Nonocom applicability, 2002 to 2006 i think it is. Only thing i know of that does those is RSW solutions Allcomms. But don't know exactly how comprehensive it is. For ECU updates i would imagine you have to download them from the RSW site into the unit then load them to the car. But don't quote me on that.

mine is a 2006. and yes there is a gap. the IID tool does more than the allcomms. I did email Storey but never got a response. i'm trying out the JLR SDD at the moment but its slow and a ballache and will probably make my laptop leak coolant.. or oil...

I have an half decent OBDII unit that does engines on most cars. But manufacturers like to keep some stuff official diag only access, so the dealers have to be used. Won't touch auto boxes on the cars i have used it on for instance.

Black box solutions reply is
"In order to fully cover L322 2002 you require the following kit.
L322 02-04 SINGLE VEHICLE KIT WITH EXTREME VEHICLE SERVER, PRODUCT CODE :

The Faultmate Extreme is a good bit of kit, I have one for P38's not locked to one VIN.
