How long till RRDT breaks the unbreakable?

In my experience, you have more luck using a rattle gun than a spanner. You're after an even twisting force, where as using a spanner means all of the load goes on one side as you're pulling the tool and relying on it to turn to not shear.

But those cheapo ezouts will snap 9 times out of 10. Always worth paying for big boy tools, because when you need them, they rarely let you down.
 
They are crap quality. You’d be lucky get a brass screw out with them.

There’s still few spare anybody wants them :p

I’m gonna have to just go slowly with the drill try get it out bit by bit.
Trying to get that carrier off will probably end in more tears
 
The carrier is more likely to come off clean. Get a good penetrating oil to soak. Apply some heat, and away you go. I've taken off worse condition parts than that without bother. Just take it easy on the wind out. If the bolt tightens up, back up a turn or two, then go again.
 
At least there is enough left for you to be able to possibly put a washer over it, weld it to it, then weld a nut to that. Old skool way of getting things like that off.
I don't trust eeziouts either. Also they, AND left hand drills come in such blo ody weird sizes. Best to drill small then bigger then bigger then bigger until you are just about taking the thread off, THEN use the eeziout. Clean up with a tap, then go for it.
But that is so hugely rusty you need some acid stuff or at least a mix of acetone and ATF, put on over and over again, before trying anything else at all! Also heat and a hammer!

No sorn, il need it for hospital appointment but that’s likely postponed. Trial for if I need to sorn in future/see if neighbours will accept premise
I have leftover atf I can paint on but no welder.
Only Have couple spanners, an hammer, few odd socket bits and some snapped EZ outs. not even got an nvq for this sorta stuff :rolleyes:
 
Drill a hole in the front of the carrier, and either tap a bolt in to push the slider out.
or use a punch to beat the bastard out..

Or my preferred methed.

Throw that carrier in the fúckít bucket and get another ;)

I ordered something similar, but it seems to be stuck in limbo. All I know is it is coming via Royal Mail. Should've been here by now, but still waiting.

Worth buying a cheap arse blowtorch for precisely this kind of stuff.

I’m not waiting a week to buy stuff. I’m skinter than @Flossie at the moment, that git got cheese & mince. I got drill bits and ah nammer.
I call it my wammer hammer ; it fix anything.

To ease Brian’s rust phobia it’s all had ATF bath. You watch how evil this stuff is cleaning that hub up. Let it soak for now.

Turns out the drill bits that chewed through the guide pin, will not touch the snapped off EZ (point to Data).
carrier came off by hand, just as 3/4” ring end spanner squirmed they eased out (point to Bix). Now not sure if this is progress or I’ve dug myself deeper?

Easy outs are made of woodpeckers beaks. You aren't likely to drill through them. At this point, new carrier and slide pins would be the way to go.

Id like try working with one I got before hassling the guy. He has an elfreetutu to rebuild as it is ;)
 
With a small gauge drillbit drill down the side of the ez, it should give you room to remove it. Then with a big drill, drill out the pin until you can drift in a side to break it free from the carrier.

But you'd need to be careful to not snap the small drill bit, because if that happens, again with woodpeckers beaks.
