I didn't have much luck with them last time I tried a set... good luck to him.
 
I've used them as last resorts a couple times on the Alfa. But in my experience you get one use out of them and that's it.
 
Is there a pool?

Good ones are ok for extracting broken threads that parted because of over tightening. But seldom any good for rusted in threads that have broken on removal. For those you are better off drilling out and fitting a Helicoil.

and they jolly better work as this has nearly doubled the cost of the job
I have silverline spanners from my early 20s that haven’t snapped once.
 
I used an easyout to remove the safety nut off my D2's wheel..

It stood upto me winding it in and jumping my 18st on the spanner!!

Reamed the ****er right out though..
