Afternoon all

So this ones currently sitting on my watch list on

1995 Land Rover Defender 110 van 300tdi, 140,000 miles, 1 owner | eBay

Mainly as the price is nice! (0 feedback on the seller is ringing alarm bells though)

But it got me wondering how well are Ex utility company landies treated?

Are they meticulously maintained or are they run into the ground then sold on with minimal servicing?

Anyone got one? anything that was neglected/bodged whilst being in the company's hands

or would I be better off buying an ex mod one?

Thanks In advance
Phil

Can't comment on quality of ex utility but would NEVER buy a motor with a low price and zero feedback from Fleabay! Remember no buyer protection on motors.
That's just my opinion though.

They used to be meticulously maintained. Nowadays they are neglected in the time running up to their disposal.

£3250 + VAT. It's not that cheap. Don't see a problem with the seller you can go and see it. It's not like you're going to pay up front.

I'd go over it with a fine toothed comb.....it says bulkhead and chassis fine, however the door stay seems very rusty - would be unusual for that to get so rusty and the bulkhead be spotless.

In my opinion, if you're selling a landy you need to put photos of chassis and bulkhead up - although any buyer would want to go over it themselves too...

The zero feed back will be because he is registered as a Motor Dealer, for some reason they don't get feedback registered.

which utility keeps landys for 20 year.....(1 owner car he says)

someones telling porkys. the " utilities" - gas/leccy/water dont keep them anywhere near that long.

is "ex utility" a way of getting rid of ex farm/quarry trucks without saying "had a hard life"
