Tank guard / tow bar now removed. Going to take off the sliders tomorrow.
Should be picking up the new old one on Wednesday :D:D:D
Might try and get a few lanes in on Tuesday night before the Disco gets broken for spares :(
 
Late update, but glad everyone enjoyed essex off road was a great day out!!

Think Chris got a load of pics, still fixing bits on the landy. managed to destroy a trailing arm chassis bush so has 2 inches of wheel movement for half the day, wore my front pads to nothing, destroyed a diff cross pin and wreck the diff and in the process snap the splines clean off my front passenger half shaft somehow and put a hole in my front diff pan.

And passenger side top swivel pin is wrecked.

apart from that its all good, and im slowly getting my way through the repairs lol.

Take it your having Brian's diff then.

Nick what state are your diffs in, might have one off you i want to get my rear one rebuilt ( seriously tempted to get Ashcroft locker put in st same time)

What are the symptoms of a knackered one?
As far as a I know they are good. If your about on Tuesday and want to have a drive your more than welcome.

I'm not sure what will be transferable to the 110 which I presume will be 10 spline and the Disco is 24.

If its on stands and you turn the wheels you can feel any play in diff, as long as it not to bad let me know when you have broken it.

Just a few minor bits then!!

Are you 24 spline or earlier 10 spline stuff? I have got a load of 10 spline bits here that are going scrappy in a few days if you need any of them...

Geoff i managed to sort it, had a diff in the workshop with knackered pinion bearings but rebuilt it and used that one, so brians is up for grabs.

A couple more for ya.

I know what you mean Nick, I don't like to see a good disco die but a 110 will survive out of it so there is a positive.;)
Just think, a 300tdi powered 110 :cool:

The price went up :( but I'm still having it :D
Its a diesel turbo and i have been thinking about my engine but i read somewhere that a 200tdi is a simple job and a 300 requires adaptations to mounts and where it joins the gearbox?
 
From what I know the 300 needs new engine mounts aswell as the gearbox is longer and engine sits further forward...
