ment to get a bit over here tonight.
Well cam belt kit arrived today, good seeing as i ordered it at 7pm friday night off ebay!
However gotta wait till thursday to do it as the workshop isn't free tomorrow.
Also ordered a new crankshaft and timing cover oil seal that should be here tomorrow.

Fingers crossed that will fix Tiny's heavy smoking habbit.

Yeah, I hope i get some to play in.

If you need a hand on Thursday give me a shout, I am about all week, also give me a good look of what will need doing, at what mileage should they be changed on a disco?

I would like to get the Oil's done in the next week or so, but dont fancy lieing under the old girl in this weather. got the filters, just need to pick up the oils when i do it.

Think LR service states 65K however i'm probably gonna do the belt once a year and the tensioners/water pump between 2/3 years. Alot cheaper than buying a new engine lol.
Yer welcome to pop along Stu, workshops a bit of a tip but i'll see if i can dig out the kettle and some water lol.

Been out in the snow today, my diff lock is now working......... :D:Dthe light does not go off when disengaged :(:(, but I put that down to the fact it needs to do some work, think it may not have been used since it was brought.....

1st time I used it, did not want to come out of diff lock, so as suggested on here, went backwards, a clonk, which was a little bit worrying as I was not expecting it:confused:,

2nd time, in and out easily, lamp stayed on, but in reverse, it went out, the distance I needed to reverse got less by the 4th atempt.:):):)

just need to try it off road now:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

You sure its not stuck on if the light hasn't gone out ?

Light does go out, after your reverse, and more I reverse the shorter the distance i need to reverse is.... I have read on here some where this happens, you can feel the difference when the diff lock is on or off on slippy ground.

I am not overly worred as the sticing is less more i use it... so just got to play more:D:D:D

yep shut backwards in diff lock then forwards unlocked, repeat till light goes out.It "unwinds" the diff according to the handbook.

Heads up for Stu and Brian, probably gonna be doing the cam belt today, as got the night off and just waiting for Mansfield to call to say my oil seal is in. Hopefully gonna start around 3ish.

Well had most of the Essex group up the workshop today. First Guy to have some welding done and rear arb removed then Stu and Brian to watch (and assist!) Me in my cambelt change.
Bit of a bloody mission but got there in the end. Think a lot of time wasted was down to trail and error.
Thanks fr the help lads. Bleed the coolant tomorrow and hopefully have the off road wheels and tyres back on.
Oh and cheers for helping me work out i actually have a 4" lift.

thats ok mate good to see the gang, and spend a few hours playing landys..... what you putting the wheels and tyres on to, now you got a 4" lift you need some bigger one's:D:D:D.

In this weather we need to go get some tea, sugar, water and milk.

See you later

Did you use the special tool for the crank bolt?

yeah we did use a range of special tools, all four of us....:D:D:D, a scafold pole, one more discovery, two tyres, and a 4 wheel burn out.....:eek::eek:.

It did not come undone by flicking the starter....:mad::mad:, but it was a fun night.

Chris has got mine to do next

Was a good night in spite of the cold.

Thanks for the tea and apple pies Stu. :)

No prob, shame you could not get there yesterday, I brought some tea, sugar, milk, water and some doughnuts:p:p:p:p.
