The Disco TD5 i bought was the worst ever buy and still to this day has left a sour taste look out rear air suspension check goes up and down and disco nice and level after a run if you see coolant dripping from the expansion tank out let walk away...make sure its running the correct coolant as well pink stuff check all electrics ie locks switchs etc heated seats heated screen depending on spec bar all that its a nice place to be in when its running lol

Early td5's are known for cracking heads, rear rust issue already mentioned all the posh bits break and are expensive to repair/replace.
Plus they are incredibly overpriced. Think that just about covers it lol

My dad had a facelift TD5, use to tonk it along quite well and didn't have any of the known issues, the gearbox was a but clunky though (auto box), other than that it was lovely to drive, much better than a 300, think I would stick with a 300 though unless you could find a low mileage, full history and rust free model, there just isn't enough to justify the extra monies...

Sure most of you know already but I own a Land Rover once again. Funny thing is I was planning on buying a 530i for daily duties however a random eBay search at the barn on saturday I came across this familiar vehicle.
Some bartering over the phone followed and my Sunday lunchtime it was on its way back to mine.
I imagine you have all seen it before:

More the money I paid I'm very happy, no rust, recient full service and head gasket change, plenty of mods to keep me happy on the green lanes.

Might bring it LR Billing depending on who's going :)

Nice looking truck Chris.
I finish my 13 hour days this week. So I'll be looking to arrange some evening laning soon :)

Did I do a body lift on that? Was that John's from Chelmsford?

Yep, though the rear seatbelt mounts have been welded back on now lol.

Cheers, got a few bits to do, alternator is on its way out and shockingly the roof leaks.
But once that's sorted I wanna get light guards, tank guard with removable tow hitch and 33" tyres and be good to go!

Mikey ended up doing the floor plus the front inner wings.

As I said Chris, the rear roof is probably just got a broken drain pipe. I have a good spare in my garage.
